Our Story

Howdy Honey was founded in 1994 by Charlotte "Charlie" Hayes, a lifelong country music lover with a passion for fashion and a dream of making western style accessible to every woman.

Growing up on her family's ranch, Charlie spent her days riding horses, attending county fairs, and sewing custom denim jackets with her grandmother. While traveling to rodeos and country music festivals in her twenties, she noticed that women had limited options—most western clothing was either traditional ranch wear or flashy costumes that weren't practical for everyday life.

She believed there should be something in between: clothing that captured the free-spirited charm of the West while remaining stylish, comfortable, and wearable long after the concert ended.

With just a handful of handcrafted pieces, a borrowed pickup truck, and booths at local fairs across the country, Charlie launched Howdy Honey in 1994. Word spread quickly as women fell in love with her unique blend of vintage western style, modern trends, and effortless comfort.

Today, although we've grown far beyond those early market days, our mission remains the same: helping women express their individuality through timeless western-inspired fashion.
